Business Breakfast - 2nd August

Business Breakfast - 2nd August

Book now for the next TBF breakfast meeting on Tuesday 2nd August at 8-9.30am at the new Hampton by Hilton Hotel in Torquay. The 131 bed hotel was built as part of the £32m harbourside regeneration scheme including a luxury hotel, shops, offices, bars and restaurant and took over 10 years of planning.

Jackie Kelly, Director of Sales, will give us a guided tour of the stunning new hotel before filling us in on the highs and lows involved in bringing Hilton to the Bay.

This event is kindly sponsored by Wollens - who occupy the top floor of the new building - and Conroy Couch. We really appreciate your support.

Network over a glass of juice on arrival at 8am before before listening to Jackie. Everyone interested in local business is welcome. £12.50 for breakfast and networking.

Build Torbay

Build Torbay

Many thanks to Helena Davison from the TDA whose presentation last month to over 70 delegates was on the topic of ‘Build Torbay’ and how the business community can help inspire local people to take up high value careers in the construction sector.

Almost £300m of regeneration projects will be taking place locally which will require 5,000 skilled workers so the more we can do to encourage people to move into the sector, the better. If you would like to sign up for the Build Torbay newsletter or become an ambassador for the project, please click here.

Thanks again to Cavanna Homes and Insignia Creative for sponsoring the event.
Stand with Ukraine

Stand with Ukraine

At our Business Breakfast in July, TBF Vice Chair Angela George explained ways in which the business community can help welcome Ukrainians to Torbay.

“Over 150 families have now arrived in Torbay and there are some fantastic volunteers working tirelessly to help them settle here. If you know anyone who would like to give a helping hand, there are 4 key ways - firstly sourcing jobs for the new arrivals; secondly volunteering 1-2 hours a week to help with language classes; thirdly donating clothes, bedding, toys or finally hosting families.”

If you want to make a difference, please contact Nikki Burton at torbay.ukraine@gmail.com or Zoe Samantha via facebook at Torbay Ukraine Visitor and Host Support Group.
