EU Referendum Debate
31st May 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
FreeAn EU referendum debate at The Princess Theatre in Torquay on Tuesday 31st May from 7-9pm. Free entry.
Our panel will consist of Torquay MP Kevin Foster and Kevin Butler, Former Bank of England Agent for the South West and consultant economist, for the Remain camp. Opposing them will be Newton Abbot MP Anne-Marie Morris and Jonathan Cavanna of Cavanna Homes leading the Leave argument. Come along for your chance to hear the pro’s and con’s and join in the discussion.
The most recent surveys show contradictory results, with narrow leads for Remain and Leave depending on the poll. It looks likely to be a very close vote.
Kevin Foster says ‘there is a lot I dislike about the EU’ but he believes ‘the challenges facing Europe as a whole over the next 20 years will be better faced with Britain remaining in the EU.’
Anne Marie Morris states ‘We need to have sovereignty back, control of our country, control of our laws. It is simply not right that the EU, an unelected body, can impose legislation upon us, much of which is not in our best interests.’
