Enjoy a 3 course meal including a Bays Brewery pint or a glass of wine at The Grand Hotel on Thursday 11th May. Regularly attracting over 200 business people, our Pie & Ale Evenings are fun, informative and great for networking. Our guest speaker is John Burton-Race. John is a British Michelin starred chef, television personality and celebrity chef, made famous by the Channel 4 series French Leave and its sequel Return of the Chef and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.
John will be giving a whistle stop summary of his colourful business life which has included working as head chef at Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Great Milton, Oxfordshire; running his own restaurant L’Ortolan in Shinfield, Berkshire, achieving two Michelin stars, opening his eponymous restaurant at the Landmark hotel in London in 2000, moving to France before returning to the UK to run The New Angel in Dartmouth.
John is now overseeing a new restaurant in the Grosvenor hotel in Torquay, the property which featured in Channel 4’s The Hotel reality show.
Keith Richardson, owner of the Richardson Hotel Group, hopes John will bring some “Michelin magic” to the hotel’s new Brasserie and Terrace.
