Torbay Business Festival
11th October 2018 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
An action packed Torbay Business Festival is set to draw over 500 business people through the doors at the Riviera Centre on Thursday 11th October – with upto 70 exhibitors, an impressive line-up of speakers, speednetworking plus the opportunity to win a BMW for the weekend.
With the aim of bringing businesses together, the event has been organised by Torbay Business Forum and is sponsored by the Torbay Development Agency and Bays Brewery.
Said TBF Chair Steve Reynolds; “This is the third year we are holding this major business event and the excitement is growing for what should be a great day. The Festival is a great way to celebrate the diverse companies that flourish in Torbay.
“There will be up to 70 exhibitors in the main Forum from many different sectors including recruitment, construction, media, tourism, solicitors, accountants, taxi firms and flower shops”, continued Steve, “and top of this, we have some fantastic speakers who will be talking on the hour for half an hour. It is free entry for anyone interested in business”.
The morning speakers include Jim Parker from the Herald Express who will talk about ‘Torbay Together’ before Carolyn Custerson from the English Riviera BID Company gives a Tourism update. Award winning, Brixham based Flossy and Jim will present their engaging talk and top business tips at 11am.
From noon there will be a Speednetworking event, run by Barry Cole from The Resultant – a great way to meet many new people in a short space of time.
The afternoon’s line-up includes Russell Beck from Impellam Group Plc, giving a thought-provoking talk on the Future of Work before Julie Hawker from Cosmic shares Digital Media tips to boost your business.
In between the presentations, people can visit the exhibitor stands and enjoy networking with other local businesses. There will also be a Bays Brewery sponsored reception as the exhibition officially ends at 4pm.
Festival Team Leader, Alison Benney, said; “The TBF team have been working hard behind the scenes and it is fantastic that so many local businesses support this event. We are also delighted that Ocean BMW are offering the opportunity for someone to win a prize of a weekend BMW. South Devon College are also offering a free ‘Skills Scan’ consultation.”
“Entry is free for all delegates and people can pop in anytime during the day – whether they are small, medium, large businesses, or new start-ups, those thinking of starting business, organisations, students. There are a few stands still available at only £125 so book now if you are interested. It’ll be a great day for local businesses”.
