Ports much more than peripheral to economy

Many thanks to Alex Chinchen, Divisional Port Manager from Associated British Ports, who gave a fascinating presentation about the work carried out by the Teignmouth and Plymouth Ports and the impact it has on the local economy. With a history dating way back to 1300s, Teignmouth has a sizeable port handling over 465,000 tonnes of cargo last year – yes, we really do learn something new every day!
