These unprecedented times prevent us from being together but health must be the priority. Being sociable animals, sudden and imposed isolation can cause many issues. Here are a few practical tips to help steer through these uncharted waters:
- Create a timetable each day
- Don’t text but CALL people – use FaceTime, Skype, Zoom and other platforms
- Set a target to call at least 3 people a day
- Do regular exercise – online videos are great
- Only watch the news at set times to avoid being swamped
- Assess your personal finances – reduce/delay/cut bills where possible
- Help others in your community – join one of the many local help groups
- Spruce up your home – declutter, reorganise, refresh
- Try new experiences – painting, calligraphy, languages
- Be accepting of others, be kind and think before you speak
