These unprecedented times prevent us from being together but health must be the priority. Being sociable animals, sudden and imposed isolation can cause many issues. Here are a few practical tips to help steer through these uncharted waters:

  • Create a timetable each day
  • Don’t text but CALL people – use FaceTime, Skype, Zoom and other platforms
  • Set a target to call at least 3 people a day
  • Do regular exercise – online videos are great
  • Only watch the news at set times to avoid being swamped
  • Assess your personal finances – reduce/delay/cut bills where possible
  • Help others in your community – join one of the many local help groups
  • Spruce up your home – declutter, reorganise, refresh
  • Try new experiences – painting, calligraphy, languages
  • Be accepting of others, be kind and think before you speak
