Whether it is through our young carers or youth work, Torbay Youth Trust support children and young people across Torbay to ensure their voices are heard and they receive the best support they need. We exist to change the odds in favour of young people at exactly those times in their lives when it can feel like everything is stacked against them.
We have a core belief that developing good quality relationships can be transformational in young people’s lives and work in a person-centred way, enabling young people to develop the skills and techniques they need to thrive.
We are seeking committed and passionate individuals with the skills and experience to support the leadership of a complex organisation. An understanding of governance in a charity is desirable.
In particular, we are looking for people with the following skills:
- finance
- securing funding bids
- creating local opportunities to raise awareness of and support for the sector
- good governance
You will be able to demonstrate good judgement combined with excellent strategic and communication skills. As a creative thinker you will be able to recognise a range of perspectives and have a real contribution to ensure the charity is well governed and focused on meeting the needs of children and young people.
This is a voluntary position but one which we hope will be very rewarding. We would hope to appoint to an initial 3 year term with the possibility to extend to a second thereafter.
